External SRAM to system port?

I would like to execute an external SRAM to the E300? Could someone help me by the configuration in scala to get an SRAM Port, I guess it should work by an scratchpad memory. Is it possible to use the external Ram for Data and Instruction memory?
Because of the onecycle access I would like to avoid connection the SRAM to an AXItoTile wrapper, and connect to DTIM and ITIM.
