For the FreedomUSDK, do we need to setup our own repos?

“repo” is a little ambiguous. Are you asking about OS updates? There are some systems for OE/Yocto OS updates, but you would have to set them up yourself. I think most people just backup user files, install a new OS image, restore user files, and don’t worry about updates. If you need OS updates, you are better off waiting for Ubuntu for that.
