Hi all,

I can’t find the license information in the Design files: https://www.sifive.com/products/hifive-unleashed/
Can anyone tell me please where can I see the license for these files? And is there any license at all?

If no licensing info is there, then it is “automatically” copyrighted by SiFive, per US law. So by default, the files are closed/proprietary. It would be nice if they included licensing info as I am wondering about the same thing.

You are correct, this is an oversight. We will update the documents shortly. They are intended to be open for all to use under a permissive license.

Jack,

We’re working on a KiCAD port of the board and I would like to use the same license as upstream. Until the docs get updated, could you let me know what license in particular is being used?

The HiFive Unleashed Board Design files are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike 4.0 license.
