Crash with Radeon HD 6450

Has anyone else seen this?
X crashes after ‘a while’ with dmesg (also after reboot):
[ 1229.813678] radeon 0000:07:00.0: ring 0 stalled for more than 10244msec

… message repeats every second or so …

Any help or ideas are appreciated!
Thank you

Could you try a different version of FUSDK (released every month). Any version starting 2021.03.01 should be OK. From my experience it could be various things (incl. kernel support broken). Right now RX 500 series cards are what I use as they have a modern graphics stack. Sadly market situation makes these cards hard to find or way too expensive.

Thanks for the reply!
I use the latest FUSDK and the issue comes up every time I am afraid.
But I have now ordered an RX550 to hopefully fix that for me (amdgpu vs radeon driver).
Maybe worth noting that the Radeon is still listed as ‘supported GPU’ here:

In case it is indeed a software/driver issue.

It was suggested that the recommendation of the Radeon 6450 was maybe based on earlier revisions or the HiFive and that nowadays there are better experiences with rx550 (and 570/580 I believe).
My RX550 just arrived as replacement and worked like a charm out of the box (including audio over HDMI). Thanks!

I have been using Radeon HD 6450 with Unmatched board without an issue. I don’t do a lot with the GUI though.

After reading your report I configured the system with same FUSDK version and Radeon HD 6450 adapter. Opened browser and would wake the monitor when I noticed it went to sleep and this config ran without any known issue with X crashing for 4hrs.

Oh, thank you for your effort and the report.
I did indeed also order another cheap used 6450 to make sure it isn’t simply the card itself as the issue came up only after a few minutes so possibly temperature related . The crashing card is passively cooled but the ITX case + fan works properly.
The RX 550 just came within 24h almost
Once the replacement 6450 arrives I will test that one as well and then possibly have one spare GPU
