SDIO WiFi for the P550?

I was wondering if anyone’s gotten WiFi working on the P550 yet, and if so, what card you used?

I was looking around for SDIO WiFi cards, and found things like this AC200 card from FriendlyElec… as someone who has only dealt with soldered-in WiFi or M.2 PCIe Wifi adapters, I’m new to SDIO compatibility, and whether any chips would work OOTB.

And if not, what would be required to get support added (a custom kernel build?).

I tried a couple of SDIO/UART/PCM/USB based cards very early in the program but they did not work on Premier P550 with Yocto. I will try them again with Ubuntu now and also try to get some with only SDIO/UART/PCM interfaces.

tp-link Archer T3U Plus (US) – USB WiFi Adapter worked right off the bat.

Enabling these kinds of cards is the kind of contribution the community can make, which is one of the main objectives for this board.

we are building a M.2 module customized for P550 board with SDIO and UART interfaces, In each future version upgrade, we will integrate the Wi-Fi drivers into the system, also we are planning to have it for sale very soon, will keep you posted.

Meanwhile, we currently have an ATX case compatible with the P550,also we are planning to have it for sale very soon
