# FU740 manual references BBL rather than OE

[fu740-c000-manual-v1p2.pdf](https://sifive.cdn.prismic.io/sifive/18febb04-50b6-4880-9bf3-631e40daa809_fu740-c000-manual-v1p2.pdf) describes the FSBL as loading and executing the Berkeley Boot Loader (BBL) image, but it seems this reference is obsolete, as the [freedom-u-sdk](https://github.com/sifive/freedom-u-sdk) repo only provides instructions for building the OpenEmbedded (OE) boot image.
Or am I missing something?

The title mentions fu540, the text mentions fu740. The fu540 manual was written over 3 years ago, and only updated once, so ignore that. For the fu740 manual, I reported that internally as a bug a few months ago. I think it was just copied from the fu540 manual. We have a draft revision to fix it, waiting for review, but I think the software team is busy trying to get as much software work done as possible before the hardware release. I can remind them that they need to work on documentation too.

Thanks for the feedback confirming that I am not missing something.
I have fixed the title to refer to FU740.
