# Freedom Studio: LLVM

Is it possible to have Freedom Studio use LLVM instead of gcc? If yes any clues as to how.

Hi Jeff,

This feature was added after v2021.04.01 (which is the most recent one available from our website) but is available only to our IP customers. If you have licensed our IP or are evaluating it, please send us an email at [support@sifive.com](mailto:support@sifive.com) from your employer’s email domain and we will set you up.
